Master Reset Instructions

A master reset reverts the device back to factory settings. It will permanently erase all personal data, preferences, settings and content such as pictures, ringtones and apps that are saved to the device and SD card. It is recommended that you save (backup) important data to your SIM card, or a computer before proceeding.

First, try this:

Master reset from settings menu

If your ZTE X500 Cricket is properly responding to its display screen then attempt this method. This method is much preferred.

1. 1. Firstly go the Home screen of your ZTE X500 Cricket, and there select the ‘Menu’ icon.
2. In the ‘Menu’ option, select the ‘Settings’ icon.
3. Next, in the ‘Settings’ option, select the ‘Privacy’ icon.
4. Now, under the above selected option, touch the ‘Factory Data Reset’ icon.
5. There select the ‘Reset Phone’ option.
6. Finally, touch and select the ‘Erase Everything’ option to wipe off all of the data and all the information from your phone memory.
7. After the completion of this process, ZTE X500 Cricket will reboot to finish the above procedure.

If that doesn’t work, or if your phone is frozen:

Master reset with hardware keys

If your ZTE X500 Cricket get some fatal error or it just freezes, then perform the following the method.

1. 1. Firstly, shut down or power down your ZTE X500 Cricket.
2. When it gets completely OFF, first take out the battery and then again put it in the phone.
3. Now, press the Down Volume & Camera buttons simultaneously, and while pressing these buttons press down your Power button at the same time. Press and hold down these buttons for around 10-12 seconds.

4. After this when your ZTE X500 Cricket gets an Android icon on its screen, press down the ‘Menu’ key.

5. Now, use the Down Volume button for scrolling purpose and through Camera button you can select the desired option.
6. Since you are now in the Recovery Mode, select the “Wipe Data/Factory Reset” option using Down Volume button and then press down the Camera button to wipe off all of the data and all the information from your phone memory.

7. Next, by using the Down Volume button select the ‘Yes – Delete all user data’ option on the screen to execute the above selected option’s function.
8. After the completion of this formatting process, press down the Camera button to reboot the phone.

9. Finally after this, you’ll have your ZTE X500 Cricket hard reset and restored back to the factory settings.
