Master Reset Instructions

Master reset from settings menu

A master reset reverts the device settings back to their factory defaults. It will permanently erase all personal data, and content such as pictures, ringtones and apps that are saved to the device. Data stored on a Micro SD card will not be erased. It is recommended that you save (backup) important data to your SIM, SD card, or a computer before proceeding.

1. From the home screen, press the Menu key and then tap All settings.

2. From the “General” tab, scroll to and tap Backup & reset.

3. Tap Factory data reset.

4. Tap Reset phone.

NOTE: Tap to check Erase SD card to remove all data on the Micro SD card.

· If security is enabled, you will be prompted to enter your unlock information at this time.

5. Tap Erase everything.

6. Tap OK.

Master reset with hardware keys

A master reset restores the original factory settings and may delete your personal data on the internal storage, such as downloaded content, ringtones, images, apps, and contacts. It does not delete data stored on the SIM card or SD card.

If the device menus are frozen or unresponsive, you can master reset using hardware keys. To perform a master reset, follow these steps:

1. Power the phone off.

2. Press and hold the Volume down and Power key simultaneously.

3. Release the keys when the FACTORY HARD RESET screen appears.

4. A confirmation screen will be displayed. Press the Power key.

5. Press the Power key again to confirm.

6. Your device will perform a master reset.
